This family purchased an old terrace in Newtown, with the idea of renovating it to sell.

Though the house is a terrace, it is not within a heritage conservation area, which allowed for a contemporary addition to the back of the existing terrace.

The best type of design for the long narrow shape of the site, was to build from one side boundary to another, to maximise internal room widths.

The brief was simple, which included creating an open plan kitchen, living and dining area, a small dedicated study room, as well as additional bathrooms and bedrooms.

In the end, the family decided against selling the home, and moved in to enjoy the house for themselves!
